Hi just wondering if there was anybody local to me in the club that wouldn't mind taking a look at my car? I have got the engine check light on and its showing code 24 and 33.
24 relates to idle speed control solenoid, I have replaced the solenoind and am perfectly happy that it's working properly. Code 33 relates to engine speed sensor 2. I think this is what is causing the problem my speedo works ok and the speedo cable is fine, I also checked for any broken wires leading to the speed sensor and they are ok.
Kind of stuck now and thought I would ask on here incase there were any tech guru's in the club that wouldn't mind checking it out before I have to resort taking it to a garage.
Thanks Scott

Speed sensor has 3 parts to it m8.firtst 2 parts are the cable which seperates and the 3rd is the unit that sits behind the dash.

What year and spec is the motor?

theres a scooby being split for parts in Girvan so if you can find out which part has failed Ill get hold of the part and fit it for you.
(done my bro-in-laws coz wee hands make life much easier.)

I have checked the cable and it's ok, my speedo does work. Am I best to take the clocks out and check in there?

Finally got this fixed today!!!!!!!

It wasn't the speed sensor at fault. The car at some point has had a fuel cut defender but whoever took it out left the wiring harness still conected to the ecu. One of the wires that it connected into was the one for the speed sensor thats why code 33 came up!! Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes
